Wera Welltech is named after founder Fredrik Westergaard’s grandmother. His grandfather Nils developed dementia, and Fredrik’s experience as a family member became a driving force to make a difference for others.
Fredrik founded Wera Welltech in autumn 2021. For him, what matters is how technology can help people, care staff and families in their daily lives.
They provide calm and reassurance for people who, for various reasons, cannot have a living pet. They are used by individuals, care homes, LSS supported accommodation and municipalities throughout Sweden.
Digital therapy animals are robotic pets and tactile aids that use movement, sound and touch to recreate contact with a living animal. They are intended for older people, people with dementia, people with disabilities and anyone who would like companionship without the responsibility of a real pet.
