How can an ordinary home be designed to create greater security and independence for a person living with dementia?
This is one of the core ideas behind SilviaBo® – Silviahemmet's housing concept where an ordinary apartment is adapted for a safe and secure living environment. The vision is that people, despite dementia, should be able to continue living together with their partner or friend for as long as possible.
In the SilviaBo inspiration and showroom environment next to Silviahemmet, visitors can discover how a well-thought-out living environment, assistive devices, and both analog and digital solutions can contribute to a safer everyday life.
Here, you can also see and experience several of Wera Welltech’s products.
Meet our robotic animals and fufuly
Welfare technology often needs to be experienced to be truly understood.
What does it feel like when a robotic cat starts purring and reacting to touch? What is it like to meet an interactive robotic dog? What happens when you pet Qoobo and its tail starts to move? And how does it feel to hold fufuly when the soft cushion slowly starts to "breathe" in your arms?
In SilviaBo, you can, among other things, get acquainted with:
-
interactive robotic cats and a robotic dog
-
Qoobo and the breathing cushion fufuly
- The charming Walker Squaker birds
The products are different, but they have one thing in common: they use touch, movement, and interaction to create experiences without requiring the user to understand or handle complicated technology.
An ordinary apartment – with well-thought-out solutions
SilviaBo shows that dementia-friendly housing does not have to feel institutional.
The showroom is an ordinary two-room apartment, adapted for a person with dementia. Here, knowledge about dementia, living environments, and various types of assistive devices and smart solutions is brought together.
This also makes SilviaBo an interesting place for organizations working with elderly care, dementia care, and welfare technology.
Instead of just reading about different solutions, you can see them in context and consider how they could work in people's everyday lives.
Wera Welltech and Silviahemmet
Our relationship with Silviahemmet goes back several years.
Since 2022, Wera Welltech's MinMemoria and Digital Experiences have been used in operations at Hattstugan. These are solutions that can be used in various ways to create activities, evoke memories, and provide a basis for conversation and shared experiences.
It therefore feels extra rewarding that several of our physical products are now also represented in SilviaBo. In SilviaBo, you can also see our digital services on both tablets and their Smart TV.
For us, welfare technology is not about technology for technology's sake. It must have a clear human purpose and be able to contribute, for example, to activity, stimulation, security, relaxation, or a meaningful moment.
Technology does not replace human contact. Instead, it can provide staff, relatives, and people living with dementia with additional opportunities in everyday life.
Visit SilviaBo and experience it for yourself
Are you working within a municipality, elderly care, dementia care, or welfare technology?
Then we believe SilviaBo is a fantastic environment to discover.
Take part in Silviahemmet's thoughts on the future of dementia-friendly housing, discover various assistive devices and smart solutions – and take the opportunity to meet our robotic animals and try out fufuly and Qoobo.
Pet the cat. Meet the dog. Feel how Qoobo reacts to your touch. Hold fufuly in your arms for a while.
Because sometimes, it is only when you get to feel and experience a solution yourself that you understand what it could mean for someone else.
