Meet Jessica Svensson
Training is delivered in collaboration with Hand Hund & Hälsa, run by Jessica Svensson. She has many years of experience with both living therapy dogs and robotic therapy pets.
Jessica trains health and social care staff in a person-centred approach. Robotic therapy pets do not suit everyone. The introduction starts with the individual and their response.
Robotic therapy pets in care
The digital therapy animals are a complement to other care. They respond to petting, hugs and movement and are experienced like a real animal – they create calm, security and spark conversation and meaningfulness. Through the animal's presence, spontaneous conversations and memories can be awakened, anxiety and worry eased, and engagement and stimulation increased. Research also shows reduced feelings of loneliness and reduced use of sedative medication.

Who is the training for?
The training is for staff and teams who will introduce and use robotic therapy pets in health and social care.
Is the training online or on site?
The bookable introductory training takes place online. Contact us to discuss a tailored on-site programme; availability depends partly on where your organisation is based.
How many people can take part?
The bookable training package covers up to five people at one care home. We prepare a separate proposal for larger groups or several units.
What do we receive after the training?
You gain knowledge of person-centred introduction, use and care of robotic therapy pets, plus a written guide afterwards.
Does the training guarantee a particular effect?
No. Robotic therapy pets do not suit everyone, and responses are individual. Their use must be guided by the person and how they respond.
