Why is an alternative to regular TV needed?
Many people in nursing homes perceive visual and auditory impressions more slowly than before and have difficulty sorting stimuli. Regular TV broadcasts with fast cuts, ads and unsettling news segments can create insecurity, especially with dementia or other cognitive impairment.
LiveTV — a TV channel for people with dementia
"LiveTV" is one of several features in the Digital Experiences app and broadcasts slow-TV content adapted to the time of day and season, intended as calm background TV. Content can be chosen as needed — for example "Exercise," "Find peace" and "Awaken memories" — and own local films can be uploaded.
What is recommended instead?
Films in "minute by minute" format from Digital Experiences, chosen according to residents' interests (profession, hobby, animals, travel, nature), plus fixed viewing times to create security and predictability.
