Government Grant 1 — Ensuring good care for elderly people
- Amount: SEK 3,998,500,000, distributed among Sweden's 291 municipalities (Stockholm SEK 266 million, smallest municipality Bjurholm SEK 1.3 million).
- Purpose: enable improvements and development of operations, for example person-centered dementia care, counteracting loneliness, improved work environment, infection control, skills development and development of welfare technology.
- Applications to: the National Board of Health and Welfare.
- Application deadline: 2026-04-01.
Government Grant 2 — The Elderly Care Boost
- Amount: approximately SEK 1,796,000,000.
- Purpose: staff costs for working time when employees study or undergo validation, as well as other relevant training according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's general guidelines (SOSFS 2011:12) — for example training in digital therapy animals.
- Application deadline: 2026-04-15.
How the grants can be used
