Radio – Simple Music Player for People with Dementia

Connect the radio using the included mains adapter. It can also run on 4 D batteries.
Raise and extend the aerial, then press the On button on top.

Once the radio is set up, the user only needs to:

1. Press On.
2. Press one of the three large preset buttons to choose a saved radio station.
3. Adjust the sound using the large volume control.
4. Press Off when the radio is no longer in use.

The volume is deliberately designed so that it cannot be turned all the way down to zero, making it easier to notice that the radio is still on.

The settings buttons are behind the battery cover on the back of the radio.

1. Press DAB/FM until DAB is selected.
2. Press and hold OK to scan for available stations.
3. Browse with < and >.
4. Press OK when the station you want is displayed.
5. Then press and hold the preset button on top where you want to save the station for approximately 8 seconds.

1. Select FM using DAB/FM.
2. Press and hold < or > for approximately 3 seconds to search for the next station.
3. When the right station is found, press and hold the preset button you want on top for approximately 8 seconds.

Repeat for the other buttons.
You can write the station name, such as P1, P4 Gotland or Favourite music, on the replaceable label above the buttons.

Relish Radio can also play a personal music collection.

1. Put music files in MP3 format on a USB stick.
2. Switch the radio off.
3. Remove the battery cover on the back.
4. Insert the USB stick into the USB port. (Included with delivery)
5. Replace the cover and switch on the radio.
6. Press the fourth button, Playlist, to play the music.

The USB stick must be formatted as FAT32, and the radio supports USB sticks up to 32 GB. Always switch off the radio before inserting or removing the USB stick.

Add familiar music that has personal meaning. This makes the Playlist button a very simple way for the person to start their favourite music independently.
