Five steps to a digitalization plan

The presentation is based on the work Fredrik Westergaard led as development lead at Region Gotland in 2019, when the social services administration's digitalization plan was created and later spread across the entire municipality.

The five steps

1. The vision — goals and direction must be anchored.
2. Mapping — gather all activities and projects, ideally via workshop.
3. Value assessment — assess urgency and feasibility.
4. Prioritize and decide — determine which projects go ahead.
5. Implement, follow up and revise — continuous improvement year after year.

The model is based on SKR's innovation guide and DIGG's value calculation.
